The pursuit of utilitarian and realist ''self-interest'' is now intensifying the alienation of people, the destruction of nature by people, the disorder of people and society, and the struggles between nations. These occurrences can be attributed to the fact that people have mostly forgotten. The value of character and humanistic qualities inherited by ancient and modern sages. To this end, our Foundation will focus on promoting humanistic education in the implementation of education, with the purpose of purifying people's hearts and improving humanistic qualities; and in the purification of people's hearts, children's education will be used as the goal. First, and then change the parents, the community and all classes of society.
The development of our education system has started with preschool education, and the Tadika CC in Endau, Johor, including services of kindergarten, day care and tuition education has been operating since 2018.
In order to truly achieve character education in the holistic education of young children, the Foundation has set up a curriculum Research and Development Department to compile integrated textbooks for intellectual and moral education in accordance with the Malaysian education syllabus governed by the Ministry of Education; based on the eight humanity values of the Foundation, it integrates '' The theme and project teaching plus learning area'' curriculum, with a view to achieving the educational goal of ''children’s autonomy, play-based, and whole-person development''. Tadika CC Endau will promote the implementation of this new course in January 2022.
In response to the Ministry of Education's comprehensive implementation of the preschool education professional diploma teaching regulations, and feeling the apparent imbalance of the current supply and demand of such teachers in Malaysia, the Foundation has begun to discuss the feasibility of establishing a branch university in the Humanities Park of the headquarters of the Foundation with an internationally renowned education university (MQA certification), focusing on the Departments of Early Childhood Education, Special Education and Education in Teachers College.
Through the implementation of cooperation, we hope to provide more high-quality teachers in Malaysia to devote themselves to education and cultivate talents of young generation.
Early childhood education mainly refers to the education for children at the age of 4 to 6 years. This is an important stage of children’s education and development because many important abilities and personality traits are shaped during this period. This stage is also the physical and mental development of children, transition from the initial form to the basically fixed personality.
The famous American psychologist Benjamin Bloom pointed out that before the age of 5 is the fastest period of intellectual development. In early childhood, the personality of the child begins to form gradually, and the plasticity is strong. If the correct education is given to the children during this period, enabling them to form a good personality will have an important impact on their lives.
Therefore, kindergarten education should be based on the principle of promoting the comprehensive and balanced development of children, reflecting the development of the five education values called morality, intelligence, physique, cooperation and aesthetics.
However, under the huge pressure of schooling, preschool education has become more and more ''primary school''. There are fewer games, more homework, and more frequent exams. The pressure of academics is passed on to young children. This will make children think that learning is boring, lose interest since childhood, and become bored with school.
Kindergarten education should focus on cultivating children's interest in learning, as well as improving self-confidence and self-care ability. The life-oriented learning themes are close to the children’s daily experience, cognition and interests, and then provide children with a comprehensive learning experience, which is conducive to children’s learning.
The characteristics of YKDS's early childhood education
YKDS believes that the most suitable way to nurture children is ''playing.'' During the game, children learn to interact with others, explore their own interests, and develop their potential. Such children are more popular, have a strong thirst for knowledge, and have active thinking. They can create a beautiful heart in the subtle so that the children can grow up happily.
Well-being and happiness can enhance children's learning ability. Only a happy childhood can create a harmonious society in the future and create a happy life.
The eight values of YKDS are in line with the six main axes of the Malaysian Preschool Education Curriculum Standard (KSPK). In addition to building positive value for children, it is also important to the cultivation of comprehensive abilities. There are many soft abilities that can be used throughout your life, such as initiating learning motivation, built-up reading interest, constructing multiple thinking, encouraging independent creativity, and emphasizing team relationships.
To increase students' interest, we will make good use of picture books as a teaching tool, because the design of picture books caters to the characteristics of children who love to listen to stories. Through picture books, guiding children to understand the content, constructing knowledge of the connotation of picture books, and guiding them to connect with their own life experience, will be able to create the wisdom of life for children.
Another feature is the use of learning corner teaching. Set up learning corner indoors and outdoors. Teaching in the learning corner emphasizes children's free play and free choice so that children can express emotions, relieve stress, social interaction and interpersonal communication in games. Teachers encourage children of different personalities to interact and communicate, cooperate or complete tasks together, and guide them to further think and imagine, to help children extend their learning and develop their autonomy.
